The Young People’s Tap Conference
is a gathering of tap dancers from the tri-state area.
They will dance to show their skills, talent
and the joy of hoofing. World-class dancers such
as Andrew Nemr, a protégé of Gregory Hines and
dancers from the Bronx dance schools will perform.
The renowned
musician, Frank Owens will provided
the musical accompaniment. There will be a film tribute to
Rita Moreno and June Allyson.
There will also be a tribute to Michael Jackson.
There will be a prize for the best Michael Jackson look-a-like.
At the end of the program everyone is invited to do
the Shim-Sham, the traditional closing dance
done at tap dance program. BRING YOUR SHOES!
